Bye-bye, Paul Pressler

Gap CEO Paul Pressler has stepped down. He came aboard in 2002 without any retail experience, after 15 years at Disney. The market's happy to see him go. Shares of Gap (GPS) rose past $20 in after-hours trading.

The problem with GPS locally is that 1) the Gap has poor in-store customer service and absolutely no petite styles, 2) Old Navy had good customer service but closed 3) Banana Republic has great customer service but still very few petites, and 4) I wouldn't know how to spot a Forth & Towne for the life of me. Ordering online is much more pleasant with more choices, although the Piperlime concept (buying shoes online) has yet to seduce me.

Who wants to take me shopping???
