The Departed, the film for which Martin Scorsese recently won a Golden Globe award, has been banned in China. Why? The film mentions a Chinese plan to acquire U.S. military technology. Scorsese was given the option of removing the offending section, but the director stood by the wholeness of his opus.
The movie is based on the Hong Kong film, Infernal Affairs (2002), the story of a police officer going undercover in a Hong Kong gang and of a gangster infiltrating the police.
