Happy Australia Day!

A bit late, since it's already Saturday morning in Sydney, but January 26 is Australia Day, the most important public holiday in that country down under. It commemorates the landing of the First Fleet in Sydney Cove in 1788. The aborigines have called it "Invasion Day."

January 26, 1788
Captain Arthur Phillip took formal possession of the colony of New South Wales.
