After promising to banish trans fat from its baked goodies, Starbucks has gone further by announcing its plan to start using milk free of growth hormone. Other dairy products going the hormone-free way are half-and-half, whipping cream and eggnog.
I keep telling all who will listen not to drink ordinary milk because of the bovine growth hormone that the industry feeds to the cows, and that if you can't skip the dairy entirely, then go for organic milk. I can't afford it so I haven't been ingesting much, except for the occasional yogurt. But you with the Starbucks habit, good for you -- you're getting real milk free of hormones!
